Welcome to SCLC
Welcome to SCLC, we are a community that loves the South Coast, loves doing life with people, but most importantly we love Jesus.
We love having new people come to South Coast Life Church! Please don't worry about what you wear, whether you believe the right things or anything else. We are a community that wants to welcome everyone, just like Jesus did.
I think it would be safe to say that most people in society have heard of the name Jesus in some way. Some people would know of his name because they passionately love and follow him as a believer, some would know of him through family traditions or their religious upbringing, and still others seem to call out Jesus’ name when they hit their thumb with a hammer. But who do you say Jesus is?
In Mark 8, Jesus pauses to have a time out chat with his disciples. He asks them a really simple question “Who do people say that I am?” The disciples give a mixture of answers, no different to how any of us would give an answer to the same question today. But, after hearing their responses, Jesus then intensifies the discussion and gets really personal. He tells them, "Ok that's interesting, but what about you - who do you say that I am?"
Peter, one of the disciples, responds with “You are the Christ”. This was Peter’s own personal response to this direct question. Each one of us at some point in our life will need to answer this question from Jesus “Who do you say I am?”
Who do I say Jesus is; Jesus is my saviour, my king, my life, my joy and my greatest delight. Our hope and prayer is that you too may search and find the great love Jesus has for you too, and in finding Jesus you too may truly know him, and have life, life to the full.
